A HUGE thanks to Jim Kellum for hosting us. The course and facilities were beautiful with great vistas. The practice facilities are nice with a large putting great and chipping area. Range balls were included in the round which would be expected of a private course but still a nice perk. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The pro shop had all the expected amenities. It's easy to see why Jim has been a member for so long and enjoys the club so much. He's offered to have us back some time to play the new North course. We're definitely going to take him up on it!
The course was in great shape for the time of year. The greens rolled true and were a little fast. The Tom Weiskopf design is fun - lots of interesting holes that gave different ways of approaching them but without being difficult (as the scores proved!).
The weather was a little gray. However, it wasn't too breezy and it never rained. The temperature a little on the cool side but pleasant. The Hubbard boys walked. It is a LONG walk (several hundred yards between some holes with lots of elevation changes) but they enjoyed it and proved walking is possible for those that want to do it.
We gathered after the round at the outdoor facility at the turn, up by the practice area. There wasn't much eat there but what they had was good! It was a comfortable place to hang out afterward, award prizes and swap stories.
The group always enjoys the four-ball format. We had a nice mix of high handicappers and low handicappers do well. The final scoresheets and payouts are available below. There is both an Excel format that shows all the formulae and a PDF version for those that don't have Excel.

We played a four-ball tournament tournament. We allowed 90% of course handicaps. Strokes from the course handicap will be allocated in the typical fashion, giving strokes on the hardest holes first. The entry fee was $20. The award format was a Nassau, meaning prizes will be awarded for the lowest net score on the front 9, lowest net score on the back 9 and overall lowest net score as shown below.
Front 9 prize: 25% of the pool, low net takes all, ties are split
Back 9 prize: 25% of the pool, low net takes all, ties are split
Overall prize; Remaining 50% of the pool split as follows
| 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50% | 25% | 15% | 10% |
