TL;DR

¶ Notes
Meadow Hills is a parkland course owned and operated by the City of Aurora. It has lots of mature trees lining fairly narrow fairways, mostly straight with a handful of gentle doglegs. About half a dozen of the holes have water but only one has a forced carry. Almost all of the holes have bunkers toward the front and trees behind. Accuracy will be very helpful on this course.
The course was designed by Henry Hughes who was a long time superintendent at Cherry Hills Country Club and designer of several other courses in and around Colorado including Riverdale Knolls (which the played in October 2023 and liked).
The facility has a driving range. Typical for this time of year, they only allow hitting off mats. They have a putting green. They have a restaurant and bar called Duffers that seems an appropriate place to gather after the round for a holiday tipple and awarding of competition prizes... 😁

¶ Weather
¶ Competition Format
We'll be out of the posting period for handicap purposes so can play fun team formats. As always, competitions are optional. Folks that don't want to participate should say so when RSVPing for the outing. We'll play a two person scramble if we get enough participation. That's a team competition for teams of two. Each player hits their own ball off the tee. The team then picks which of the two shots they like best. Both players play from the spot of the best shot. Play continues in this way until the team holes out. The hole score is the number of strokes played by the team (tee shot by both players is stroke one, second shot from the better ball of the two players is stroke two, etc.). The team with the lowest 18 hole total wins everything. Buy-in is $10 per player.
If we get four or fewer people we'll play Bad Cards Fore Good Golfers. We played last year and it was great time.

¶ 18Birdies Tournament Information

Our league uses 18Birdies to allow us to manage scores during and after a round. We can also communicate with one another before (to RSVP or ask questions), during (trash talk!) and after the round through the app, upload pictures of our outing and other good things. We can see an ongoing leaderboard of how our fellow members are doing. Oh, and just for keeping track of scores, it's free! We highly encourage it.
