The October 2023 HAF League outing will be on 15 October at the Knolls course at Riverdale in Brighton, CO.

¶ Notes
The League has been to Riverdale twice to play the Dunes course. This is the first time playing the Knolls course. As opposed to the Dunes, the Knolls is a parkland course that plays fairly open. It does, however, have plenty of water. It should be a good challenge. The course was designed by Henry Hughes who was a long time superintendent at Cherry Hills Country Club and designer of several other courses in and around Colorado including Meadow Hills.
The Riverdale courses are typically in excellent shape. They've got a nice practice facility with a large driving range, two putting greens and a pitching/bunker practice area. There is a restaurant with good food, a decent beverage selection and generally good service.
They have a driving range, putting green and chipping area with a bunker. The course is walkable but is fairly hilly. The availability of push carts and rental clubs is not yet known.

¶ Competition Format
We're going to be playing a Moneyball tournament this month. Moneyball is played in teams of four. Buy-in is $5 per person. There are no handicaps for this tournament format.
Players on a team rotate playing the moneyball. The first player will have the moneyball on holes 1, 5, 9 and so on. The moneyball is usually, but need not be, a different colored ball. Two players will end up playing the moneyball 5 times so each team should set up their teams accordingly.
Players play their own balls as normal per the rules of golf on each hole. The score from the player playing the moneyball will be combined with the lowest other score for that team. For example, if the player playing the moneyball scores a 5 and another player on the team scores a 4, the team score for that hole would be 9. The combined scores from all 18 holes are totaled at the end of the round. The foursome with the lowest total score wins the tournament and the money.

¶ 18Birdies Tournament Information
Tournament Code: TBD
Our league uses 18Birdies to allow us to manage scores during and after a round. We can also communicate with one another before (to RSVP or ask questions), during (trash talk!) and after the round through the app, upload pictures of our outing and other good things. We can see an ongoing leaderboard of how our fellow members are doing. Oh, and just for keeping track of scores, it's free! We highly encourage it. Use the Tournament Code in the Play section of the app to join the tournament and follow how your fellow golfers are doing on the course. Follow/friend your favorite player in the app to get notifications of round start and end and to be able to follow their progress.
